A routine railway journey was plunged into chaos when multiple people were stabbed aboard a train speeding through eastern England.

A hero rail staff member who shielded a young girl from a frenzied knife attack on a train in Huntingdon has been praised for 'undoubtedly saving people's lives'.

A BTP statement confirmed the LNER staff member had tried to stop the attacker, and said it is "clear his actions were nothing short of heroic and undoubtedly saved many people's lives".
